Optimize your kitchen layout

• Optimize the washing area. This area corresponds to the sink, but also to the dishwasher. The ideal is to be able to easily bring the dirty dishes from one to the other without having to cross the room. Another practical detail: place the trash can nearby to increase efficiency when clearing the table. This makes it possible to reduce the number of steps to what is strictly necessary and to reduce the number of table visits: put the dirty dishes on the worktop, throw the leftovers in the trash and, if necessary, rinse them in the sink before put them in the dishwasher.

• Optimize the cooking area. This concerns the hobs, which are generally built into the worktop, but also the oven. The latter is most often installed under the hot spot, but to avoid having to bend down, it may be interesting to have it at eye level. If space permits, it is possible to install a wall cabinet in the extension of the worktop and place the oven there. This layout leaves room for storing pots and other utensils, and having them within easy reach.
